Anyone else wish they'd start filming the cycles in summer again?

These last two cycles have to be the least appealing adverts for Australia anywhere. They're so dark, depressing and dank looking!
I actually get season affective disorder from just watching them, and I'm starting to think that its because they were filmed in winter.

Has anyone else noticed a drastic change in the colours the last two cycles compared to the previous one? Each episode of this cycle leaves me wanting to slash my wrists - and not just because of dumb eliminations and Sarah favoritism.

I want cycle 8 to have a more summery, fresh, fun vibe like cycle 5.

i thought the setting in cycle 6 was the best in any ntm history...then again, its only my opinion :-)

Blame sarah for being butt hurt about the finale screw up and firing Granada productions and replacing it with Shine australia who are responsible for the double eliminations and 20 girls making it into the house, etc

I'm wondering if the new tone, colors, etc. just reflect Sarah's aesthetic. She might have told Granada productions what she wanted and we got a mix of summery and darkness for cycle 6 (which made it perfect imo. Had just the right level of sleek professionalism and summery, bright fun). And now that she has control over Shine, she just turned AusNTM into everything she wanted it to be. :scratchhead

Cycle 6 was amazing in terms of production.

I loved the dark aesthetic. It was done really well.

This cycle's production is just not very good. I don't think it has anything to do with the seasons, but I do get what your saying. I think top model should be filmed earlier in the year too :)

It's kinda confusing for me cause the seasons in Australia are the opposite of Europe's right? So when it's summer over here it's winter of there, right?

I agree with the first post. And duh @ people saying how great cycle 6 was all the time. That cycle becomes highly overrated.

I agree with the first post. And duh @ people saying how great cycle 6 was all the time. That cycle becomes highly overrated.

I think as time goes on, people just remember the pictures and the models and forget whether it was actually entertaining to watch.
In terms of girls and photos and winner, cycle 6 was fantastic. But in terms of sitting down for an hour each week watching it and having fun, it paled in comparison to cycle 5.

^It did, but I felt like it was a fair trade-off. The documentary feel is what really got me excited to watch it, but then I love documentaries and think for the most part good documentaries aren't boring.

I must say that it really only got boring once Kim left tbh. At the beginning there was the freshness of the style and coloring that would keep you going. If I had to say one thing I hated though, it was the 5-girl-cut in the first episode. Not cool. :riphair

Well it's not like AusNTM is a tourist advert for Australia, it's designed to be watched in Australia, which for over half of the country just happens to be overcast for large periods of winter. And it's not like summers in Sydney are sunny and 35 everyday, there is a lot of rain still.
