Singaboi's ranks all 26 contestants of The Glee Project Season's 1 & 2!

I think I've voiced my opinions loud enough for you to know which contestants are gonna be around the top of my list but I still wanted to make this list because it still shows me how eff'ed up I think some of the eliminations were.

I think there will be some shocks because this is clearly a bias ranking and my favourites were never the 'fan-favourite' so buckle up and prepare for numbers 26-21:

26 - Maxfield Camp (S2 - 14th)

This is why I thought Season 2 would be great because it started out with the most just elimination IMO, although Maxfield certainly had some things going for him, particularly the fact that he was a country singer, there was something very old about his look. As soon as I saw the Edge of Glory promo I instantly thought he looked like the older brother of one of the McKinley seniors and that wasn't a good sign, the fact that he'd only been singing for 6 months was also obvious to me with his time in the studio being a disaster and his LCP being very underwhelming. All in all I just think that Maxfield wasn't meant for the Glee Project but I'm sure he'll go on to do great in whatever he wants to do. http://youtu.be/qrCrp_GdxfU

25 - Bryce Ross-Johnson (S1 - 12th)

I didn't really get the hype around Bryce, not only did I think he was full of himself while not (in my eyes) being THAT attractive, but the range he showed on the show seemed extremely limited and made Cory Montieth's range seem the same as Christina Aguilera in comparison, Was it his fault? Possibly not which is why he doesn't get last, they must have known he was a bass baritone when he was put on the show so why give him a Bruno Mars song that reaches to the high heavens in it's range. Bryce MAY have gotten a raw deal but his smugness and so called charm just put me straight off him. http://youtu.be/4DreoG97nVM

24 - Ellis Wylie (S1 - 11th)

I think there was no in-between with fans on Ellis either you loved her or hated her, well I didn't HATE her but I just didn't GET her, she looks tiny and cute, she sings tiny and cute sometimes then other times it was this crazy Liza-esque voice and on top of that she talks low and has this dry sense of humour that just didn't sit well with me. I could definitely see her in something much darker then Glee, something like Election 2 or Orphan 2 but I just couldn't see her fitting in to the Glee club, I can't picture who she'd be friends with nor do I think her voice is anywhere special enough to keep fans interested in her. 23 - Taryn Douglas (S2 - 13th/Withdrew)

It's hard to judge Taryn because we rarely saw much of her and what we did see was her being sad and suffering from self-confidence issues, but in terms of voice I do think had she had the right attitude she could've made it to the half way mark because it sounded like she did have quite a strong and controlled voice. Even though I can't even mention a single thing that popped out about her (other than leaving) I didn't want her in last place because I found myself rooting for her to get over her fears (which is something I can't say about the other 3 before her) and go from strength to strength. 22 - McKinleigh Abraham (S1 - 9th)

Surprisingly this gif was probably the most energetic I saw this girl in the 4 weeks she graced the first series but it's also the only larger gif I could find which brings me to my point about McKinleigh, she just wasn't memorable and her energy level was kind of stuck on snooze. Her voice was good but it never really wow'ed me either so I think for me she was the reason I understand that the personality does play a big part in becoming a star, because she was always in the middle of the pack but I can barely remember her except for her vocally impressive final LCP, but still there was no spark in her personality for me. http://youtu.be/e9DMJ7xT5PM

21 - Mario Bonds (S2 - 10th)

I'm not going to lie that I instantly rooted for Mario when I found out he was blind, I know it's stupid to not even base it on talent at the time but he truely had the underdog story that is true to glee, HOWEVER I then I saw him on the show. Now there's no denying Mario has a fine voice and if we were just basing this on vocals alone he'd be much higher up but it's his attitude that has put him this low, I found him egotistical, entitled and rude a lot of the time even before people on RTV were mentioning it or just passing it off as just a once off but as soon as that side came out of him I no longer saw him as someone you could root for and most certainly not someone I'd want to see on Glee. It's possible the editing helped out in this case in creating a villian but I'm sticking to my guns on this and I think Mario deserves this ranking, plus I don't quite understand why you'd sing a cover on youtube shirtless (check out 'someone like you' if you want the visual) :S http://youtu.be/39k_W0REkc0

2 Homework Wins: I'm pretty sure the only three that won more than one Homework Assignment were Ali, Marissa, and Samuel, but I could be wrong. Hoping Marissa isn't this low. Oh wait, I forgot that Matheus fits this category. It's probably him.
Eliminated on 3rd Bottom 3: I'm pretty sure two of them are Michael and Tyler. The third one is tough, but I say Abraham.

20 - Tyler Ford (S2 - 9th)

I was actually quite a fan of his voice, it was a little nasal but I still rank Daniel up quite high in my books the problem with Tyler was exactly what the judges were and he himself was saying, he was too early in his transition. I'm sure it's not easy going from a girl to a boy without having a few feminine attributes and Tyler was still getting used to the boy body he now had, what I do think is a little sad is that he was made to be one or the other, I don't know if he specifically mentioned that he didn't want to be typecast as the transgendered but I thought had he used that to his advantage he wouldn't be second guessing himself so much and he may have had more opportunity to stand out. http://youtu.be/uzqXvB1gN14

Matheus had the confidence of a 6ft man and that's originally what I liked about him, he had this "sure I'm different but I can rock it like the best of them" attitude, however it was this attitude that started making me like him less and less. It seems the praise and the h/w challenge wins got to his head a lot and his performances suffered for it, we as Glee fans like to root for those who either are purposefully being a caricature of themselves or just purely humble and there wasn't even a fine line with Matheus instead it became all ego. His LCP's were very over the top and he really needed to reign it in but I really do admire how much confidence he has. http://youtu.be/wPYpySm_odc

I THINK that I Michael wouldn't have been this low if he had of been eliminated earlier but having to see the judges making excuses as to why he shouldn't have been in the bottom 3, constantly getting the same critique and surviving while others get no critique and slip up once and leave. So needless to say Michael frustrated the hell out of me, his personality was boring, his voice was average and his acting for the most part did nothing to blow me away, it strange that the only time I thought he was good he then was eliminated. Micheal overstayed his welcome IMO and he had nothing that made him Glee Project worthy in a cast of very strong contestants. http://youtu.be/lKIZ74R8Vfw

17 - Abraham Lim (S2 - 7th)

I just didn't like Abraham, there I admitted it, I didn't get the androgyny, I didn't get why he would've worked on Glee and I most certainly don't believe he should've talked back to Ryan like he did. I'm not a Ryan fan at all but the whole screamed desperate rather than making himself look better or showing how much he wanted, so why is he above others? Well I do actually think he's quite talented and his youtube covers are what raised his ranking for me. I just don't think he's the kind of person I'd want to see on Glee, he really struggled to make himself identifiable to the viewers and the judges and I think that his elimination was completely just, http://youtu.be/fCkqtKQO_3I

16. Dani Shay (S2 - 12th)

Firstly Dani did I think Dani would leave so early? NOPE. Did I think that she deserved to go home after her LCP? Unfortunately I did, as I've mentioned above I really liked Daniel by Tyler and, well Lily's not on the list yet so that show's what I think about her. Landslide was nice but lacking vocally and the emotion I saw in the rehearsal was what I was expecting in her LCP but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype I gave it. I do agree that she is more an artist than an actor/singer on Glee so I got why she was eliminated I just really wished she'd have lasted a couple more weeks and who knows maybe she'd change my mind. 15 - Damian McGinty (S1 - 1st equal)

I actually love everyone left on this list for different reasons so this was hard putting him this far down, what I loved about Damian was his charm, personality and energy, I think he knew he wasn't the strongest at either acting, singing or dancing but boy did he try his best. Should he have won? Well yes and no, his win made sense to me because I was falling for the same things the judges were, however I've also stated that we was never the strongest and his performance on Glee showed that and may have a bit to do with why he's not back this season. He's most definitely the kind of guy I find cute PLUS I've always loved an Irish accent so I never got tired of just looking at him and listening to him talk but the boy was pretty weak. http://youtu.be/_yfTXUdEApc

14 - Alex Newell (S1 - 3rd equal)

This guy only beats out Damian for the fact that he's probably one of the best singers on The Glee Project, seriously when he sang in his multiple LCP's I was sitting there with my mouth open with no words (ironic since I have no voice at the moment), but DAMN this guy was a DIVA! He really knew his sh!t didn't stink and he didn't seem to care that he really was painting a bad picture for himself, he felt like he didn't need to improve on what hes been doing and that's why he was in the bottom so many times. HOWEVER I have to say of the 3 guys who made it on to Glee he showed the most promise with his role, of course that may be because the writers really loved writing for him but I do think he's slowly redeeming himself. http://youtu.be/cR1DvcWgyfY

13 - Hannah Mcialwain (S1 - 5th)

So I kind of tricked you and Hannah's actually 2 of the clues, she was eliminated on her first LCP and it seems that she was one of the firm favorites of her season, that's why she's low for me because I didn't really get the hype around her. Hannah was a bright bubbly girl who seemed to have a big heart but I was never that impressed by her singing although I definitely think that she really put her all in to everything she did, I guess she just wasn't riveting enough for me to want to see her on Glee plus I wasn't a big fan of her LCP. http://youtu.be/jJVroRJp4fk

I have nothing but love for Ali, I was rooting for her from the day I first saw the Edge Of Glory promo and while others never warmed to her as quickly I think most can admit that by the end she was an impressive little comedian and singer. She just burst with happiness, vitality and she never lets things get her down which I think is such amazing qualities for anyone to have and she really is the epitome of what Glee is about. The only reason she's so low is because she started at about 6 and slowly as I kept thinking about who my faves were she unfortunately took a tumble but I have nothing but respect for this girl and I REALLY hope that she makes in to show business whether it's theatre, television or movies because with a personality like that she screams STAR. 11 - Samuel Larsen (S1 - 1st equal)

Samuel's consistency is what put's him here because I wasn't particularly drawn to him as a character but he was always going through the challenges and music video and creating a great (but always amazing) result which I think is a really great trait to have in such a high pressure environment. I do think he has a nice voice and his Jolene I rate quite high on my fave LCP. He's your typical winner and his Glee role seems to fit his actual personality as the chilled christian guy so Ryan got what he wanted out of him and I think Samuel should get some props for that. http://youtu.be/5HxvBNNr_s0

Sorry I couldn't choose between these 2 gif's and this is why I loved her, she was a spicy Latina that no matter what people say, we have not had on Glee, Santana was a bitchy Latina but this girl has the real Sofia Vegara type personality that I would've LOVED on Glee. Apart from that the girl is stunning, funny, can whip that hair like nobody's business and made Grenade in to a great break up song albeit far too overdone but once the girls given direction to reign it in then she would've slayed it. I'm a firm believer in Lily's talent and stage & screen personality, I remember instantly taking a disliking to her due the comments she made but then remembered this is a show and when you're talented I'll use the excuse that it's down to editing although talking the way she did to the judges wasn't a smart move, I get it as a performer myself but you just think it not say it. From what I've seen and read from other contestants she's not the b!tch she was portrayed to be and I think that Lily's drive was the reason for her actions, this girl wanted it and she was willing to do whatever she could to get it and that's both admirable and off-putting. Anyway theres no denying that on stage Lily is a tour de force and I enjoyed watching her for all of her LCP because you have charisma, nerve and talent (she could almost be on drag race lol), I really do feel sorry for the hate that I see on her youtube comments and I really hope this doesn't affect her career that much. http://youtu.be/HDKrmL8aA58

8 - Blake Jenner (S2 - Winner)

Blake was such a consistent contender it was hard to place him out of the top 10 even though my reservations with his win would've easily but him there, but the boy can act, he can sing and he can dance. Was he amazing at all of those things? Nope but was he ever that bad? Only once in the studio with Nicki on the harmonies, other than that he quite rightfully sailed his way through to the top 3 with only one tiny hiccup so Blake deserves this placing. My issue is obviously that he's very generic and doesn't have that character or thing about him that made him a good winner but he's still the best winner they've had IMO and I'm sure he'll do just fine on the show. His duet with Nellie is probably one of my favourite LCP's in any season and he was always able to create great chemistry with others due to how much of a good sweet natured guy he was. http://youtu.be/g_6ZaZth0RM

7 - Cameron Mitchell (S1 - 6th/Withdrew)

Oh Cameron, I have such a crush on this guy and I don't even really understand why other than it's just who he is, while the judges didn't think he was Glee enough there was no doubt this guy marched to the beat of his own drummer and that's what I liked about him. He was cool, sweet, caring and the whole bromance with Damian made him even more endearing, yes I do think he'd work on Glee and I think he may have won if he hadn't dropped out but for his beliefs I completely understand his reasoning for dropping out but boy did his star shine brightly when he was on this show and those dance move, Adam Levine hasn't got no moves like Jagger Cameron does. Anyway I completely understood why he was a fan favourite and while I've placed him at 7th he's most certainly one of the best males that's been on this show. http://youtu.be/eaHz3XScDdo

6 - Marissa von Bleicken (S1 - 7th)

I know I'm going to get some hate for this but I'll tell you why she's 6th, Marissa seemed like a great package, she had a great look, a great pressence she seemed to take direction well but I wasn't sold 100% with her voice, everything else about her was just so amazing and her voice was still good but as you we'll know now I love me some controlled belters when it comes to my female singers and from what I heard from her LCP her vocals had quite a few flaws in her lower register that I couldn't look past. That said still she was ROBBED ROBBED ROBBED because I don't actually think she should've been in the bottom that week (I don't think she did either) but putting her with Alex & Cameron and them rocking their songs while hers wasn't the best then I think the elimination did make sense. Ok so here's where personal preference and fan girl-ing on my part shrouds the fact that the may not be the best fit for Glee in some peoples opinions but these 5 have the most talent from the show (again IMO). I'll be posting the next 3 one at a time so here goes:

5. Charlie Lubeck (S2 - 9th)

I remember in the Edge Of Glory I quickly wrote him off as a Finn wannabe but now I wish Finn had been more like Charlie, Charlie's cool, sure of himself, an artist, an actor, extremely dedicated to his craft and that's why I like him. He did things acting wise the others would never do because he had invested in his character, I never really understood where the judges were coming from with there critiques for him except the whole Mario thing, BUT let me say this, had he discussed with Mario what he was going to do the scene would have been genius because bullies don't care about your disabilities they just want to hurt you and when Charlie took that stick I was thinking that he was so realistic. I do think he let the Aylin thing get in the way of his performance but that's how passionate this guy is, he really loved her, he really loves to act, he really loves to do his own thing and I really just loved what he did and where he goes with his performances (yes I said really a lot of times). I really hope Charlie succeeds because his technique reminds me of Heath Ledger, Christian Bale & Leonardo DiCaprio those type of actors who really become what they're acting plus his vocal arrangements were sublime. http://youtu.be/hMp2QorcjKY

Now this was hard :( the amount of times the 2nd, 3rd & 4th places changed while I was doing this ranking was probably about 20 times, but in the end I had to say "right Paul remember who you love and why" and unfortunately Aylin swooped down to 4 from 2 easily after that. Of course that still means I love her to bits and if I was ranking purely on who should've been on Glee she'd either be 1st or 2nd without a doubt, I don't really have too much of reason to put her to 4 except that I liked the other contestants just a smidgen better, Aylin was such a great contestant, she was bright, bubbly, talented and had an great story that's never been on Glee. She also wanted this BAD because I don't think even she would talk about being of Muslim heritage quite as much as she did if Ryan wasn't getting a boner over the story every time he heard it but her talent was undeniable, I hadn't regarded her as a fave of mine until I heard Without You and then there was no doubt Aylin deserved top 3. I don't agree with the amount of times she was in the bottom especially her first trip there and I almost thought that they had the bar lifted higher for her because they knew how much potential she had, but in saying that every LCP was another chance for Aylin to shine and I'm hoping Ryan's going to throw her in to the show in the 2nd half (probably my wishful thinking) where she'll shine as much as I know she can. http://youtu.be/2OmQCXecOVE

Woah Nellie! I was late to come to the Nellie lovefest but once I heard her vocals in Everybody Hurts then I fell in love, what Nellie had going for her was that she had something no one else had on the Glee Project and that was pure emotion when singing, every nuance always sounded like it was meant to have been in the song she's singing purely to help tell the story on a deeper level. Obviously Nellie deserved to go further considering they were constantly on her back to stand out and then when she did she still never got the praise she deserved. Should she have won? Hmmm well as much as I love her unless she did burst out of her comfort zone more then she did then most definitely yes, but in this situation it just didn't look like Nellie was destined for this win, however I have no doubt that this girl will find success and at least she now has thousands of very supportive fans. http://youtu.be/53KwPBavM2M

I think it comes at no surprise that Shanna takes out my #1 spot of Season 2 considering how obsessed I am with her and her voice, god blessed this girl with the power to SANG that's for sure, as soon as I heard her on the Edge OF Glory promo I knew instantly that she's the one I'll be rooting for and considering my #1 of all seasons was edited as a bitch I assumed the same would happen to Shanna. Fortunately Shanna seemed to be one of the nicest contestants, she was constantly hugging someone or had a look of excitement for all of the challenges plus she would do anything to get the part without undermining her beliefs. What bugged me about the second season was the shock the LCP's seemed to come to people like Shanna, she'd do her best in the homework challenge, her best in the video challenge and for the most part always shined, however there were times where she wasn't critiqued then just before announcing the bottom 3 they'd tell her what she'd done wrong which seemed to shock not only her but also the viewers, I just don't think you should criticize someone without warning them first so that they can change it and for the 2 times Shanna was in trouble she wasn't really told how to improve herself before finding out she did bad. Also while Stronger was the weirdest thing lyrically this girl knows how to improvise like a pro, her You Oughta Know is still wanna of the funniest most impressive things I've seen on this show and Ryan has no excuse to say he couldn't write for her because she's actually a VERY easy character to write for but I guess not a cliche person to write for so that's why Ryan would've struggled.http://youtu.be/Txvlq7oM1iM

Now why is the resident 'bitch' of season 1 my top choice? She's what brought me to Glee Project, I have to admit that I didn't watch The Glee Project when it first came out because I thought the premise was stupid, I mean we really want a reality tv show about kids vying for a place on Glee and possibly changing the show due to the inadequacies of these amateurs? So I'd hear a few things from different blogs about the season but nothing major, until I get to the week Lindsay sang Maybe This Time and there was a blog going on about how amazing it was so I had to check it out and I was blown away by Lindsay. So my first experience with Lindsay was purely a talent thing, I had no idea what kind of person she was but what I did know was that she was an absolutely stunning singer, so I finally watched the show and realized what kind of person the show had painted her out to be and being an avid Top Model fan I refused to believe that she was like that and that it more came down to editing. After the show it's very obvious that the editing was not in her favour at all and contestants still think very highly of her and I do too, she's gorgeous, her Gimme Gimme was almost flaw free, her Harmony is still the best Glee Project character that's been on Glee (literally) and I still think she was beyond robbed especially when she was meant to be sharing a runner-up prize and got the least amount of screen time.
