    The Designer's Showdown

Hello Coksy, RiddleMeThis, and Sir Bitter and welcome to the Designer?s Showdown. You three were sent here by your fellow contestants to display your talents. The two people who have the best showing will be safe next week while the loser will be sent packing. This week you will be designing an outfit and doing the makeup of Ms. Charlize Theron.

http://stardoll.com/dollsFullsize.php?id=299(make sure you press the arrow and use that head (the one with the shorter hair and the jewelry on the bottom))
Charlize Theron was born in Benoni, a little farming community outside Johannesburg, South Africa on August 7th, 1975.

Charlize began her modeling career in 1991, at 16, when she won a local modeling contest. She started modeling in Europe, and came to New York a year later. She didn't like being a model though, and decided to try her luck with ballet, which had been her biggest passion as a child. Unfortunately, a knee injury prevented her from dancing. Her mother bought her a one-way ticket to Los Angeles in 1994, and Charlize started visiting all of the agents on Hollywood Boulevard, but without any luck. She went to the bank to cash a check for $500 she'd gotten from her mother, and became furious when she learned that the bank could not cash her check because it was an out-state check. She made a scene, and an agent gave her his card, in exchange that she learn the language, which she did by watching soap operas on TV. Her first role was as a young mother in a park in a B-film in 1995, but it was a non-speaking role with three seconds of screen time. Her next role was as Helga in 2 Days in the Valley (1996), which landed her the role of Tina in That Thing You Do! (1996). Since then, she has starred in movies like The Devil's Advocate (1997), Mighty Joe Young (1998), The Cider House Rules (1999), The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) and The Italian Job (2003). An important day in her life was February 29th, 2004, when she was awarded with her first Academy Award for her performance in Monster (2003).
You may use whatever pieces you want from her stardolls to doll her up, however you must use 3 different wardrobe pieces on Charlize?s full body outfit. On her face you must change all four elements as well as use at least one piece of jewelry. Wardrobe pieces include hair, shoes, shirts, pants, jewelry, ect. Items already on the celebrity are not counted. With your designs please list the pieces you used and include a 125 word max description of the outfit and the makeup/jewelry you choose. Penalties will be given to those who go over the 125 word limit. You will be judged on creativity, originality, and how fashionable your outfit and makeup getup is. Remember to not discuss this task with anybody. Your designs are due by Friday at 11PM EST but as always the sooner the better.

    Good Luck!

Incredible twist! Good luck to all three! Look at this as an early opportunity to win immunity for next round!

  3. #363
Good Luck to you three! I can't wait to see the outcome, I'm sure y'all will do great! It'll be sad to see one of my fellow designers go, though. Oh and that twist? Pretty mind blowing .

  4. #364
Wow! Two twists in one results. Didn't expect them coming! But is the "two winners from the challenge are safe" twist just for this week? Good luck to the three. I know we will see some GREAT designs :D !!!
Please get a copy of Kat McPhee's album IN STORES NOW!...

It's an AIW game, did we expect anything less than a creative twist.

This is fun to watch. I never would have been able to compete with the designs. My mother was a model and I didn't get an ounce of that in my genes.

Good Luck Sir Bitter, Coksy and Riddle!

Wow - I played around with this one and wow! Thank goodness I am not in the challenge!

I am so excited to see what you guys come up with - it should be really great all around! Good luck to everyone in the challenge!

Is it 3 pieces exactly or can we go over? Will the answer you give be the same for all challenges?

You will have 36 hours. I am thinking of making most 48 deadlines, 36 hours, and keeping the 24 hour deadlines the same.

    Any objections?

  13. #373
Well I'm glad this time I had 48 hours since I finished work yesterday, but I guess this summer I will have more time so 36 hours shouldn't be a problem.

As for this challenge, I'm working on it and am close to finishing it.

I'm so looking forward to seeing the designs. It seems a shame that anyone has to leave - the real fun is in doing the designs and the only time you get to is if you are on the block.

Good luck to all 3 of you. And I hope, and I really, really hope, the designs are the only criteria for anyone voting out there. That is what this game is supposed to be about, and what it should be about.

    I agree with that!

I think that we all should let our voices be heard :D My taste is pretty conservative though - so don't get mad if I like the more "conservative" looks I know the judges aren't into conservative!

  16. #376
Well contestants are not allowed to vote so there shouldn't be too much of a problem there.

Oooh *z snap* I am sure AIW Banks won't spank us for giving our critiques/opinions even though we can't technically vote.

Random, but doesn't it feel like a Saturday today? Dude, you know what we should have done before the game started? It would have been too cute to have us do avatars and then have AIW gives us makeovers like on ANTM. I could just see him now:

"Glitter. You need to be more conservative. From now on you will wear your hair in a bun like a librarian and wear a burqua. Bobby, you will remooooove your cornrows and you will now have a blonde fro. Sir Booty, you are now a red head and will spike your hair with gel every day. Riddle, you are getting extensions down to your waist. Aly, *revs up electric razor as she runs screaming in terror*
