Yaya is in the new movie "The Kids Are All Right" starring Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore. I just saw it last night and she is actually really good. She plays Mark Ruffalo's girlfriend Tanya.

Yaya: From Top Model to Actress

Yaya DaCosta may have gotten her start as the runner up on Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model, but these days she’s spending her time on the big screen rather than on the catwalk. The former Top Model has been named “Woman of the Summer” by Esquire magazine and has a supporting role in the movie The Kids Are All Right (starring leading ladies Annette Bening and Julianne Moore) which was released on July 9th.

The stunning beauty also has a role in the upcoming movie Tron: Legacy and will be hitting the off Broadway stage as Olivia in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night later this month. Yaya is no stranger to the camera. She has been acting both on the big screen and in television for the past several years landing roles on All My Children, Ugly Betty and in various films.

I saw The Kids Are Alright and she did a really great job.

I'm not gonna act like she had some major demanding role, she did have sort of a simple role. But I still thought she was very strong and charismatic. I think she has a natural quality in her presence that commands your attention and makes you wanna see her character challenged, which is perfect for acting. I do wanna see her play a bigger role though. The character she had to play wasn't too different from her natural self, but I think her appearance on Ugly Betty proved that she can play a completely different character. I really wanna see more of her as an actress.
