In short, yes. Basically what you said is everyone can be on VI, but not everyone can be on Extra (as correspondent). However, seriously how true is that? Despite Allison winning the interview challenge, Tyra's comments about her being the most VI worthy, the winner perfume which is pink, sweet and young and her COA which is by far the highest, really?

I don't buy yours any day of the week. We'll see.

Can we just crown Allison the winner already?! It's so bloody obvious that she win (biggest fan base, modelling talent, star potential). I seriously cannot believe pple are arguing over allison's deserving prize. Anyway, let's hope that her VI editorial spread is eerie-ugly-pretty concept. That would be so fitting for our creepy chan

We're talking about Extra, here. Being authentic, articulate and witty is not going to score her additional points, as sad as it may be. The winner is going to be a special correspondent, so that means they'll expect the the person to be really bubbly while pretending to care about what type of shoes are going to be in style this summer according to some D-list stylist. Lisa's too in-your-face, I would say, but someone like Dominique, Angelea or Laura would be pretty much everything an Extra "special" correspondent is about. Allison's adorable charm wouldn't be suited for this job specifically.

Also, Photoshop might be expensive and time-consuming, however none of the girls would need it to an extent where it becomes an impossible option. That's being over-the-top. Most of the contestant's age signs are the most simple ones to correct in minutes. Even with Top Model's laughably horrible job with Photoshop, they manage to make someone like Lisa look good enough. They wouldn't need any more Photoshop that any actress or singer does, or older models for that matter (Naomi or Kate, for instance).

It would be easy to achieve stunning looks without much Photoshop either, just with styling, makeup and photography. Take Dominique, put dramatic, bold makeup on her face, shoot her in black and white with extreme lighting and ramp up the contrast, and it would look absolutely incredible. Take Laura, put her in floor length gowns, play with perspectives with the camera angles to make her look really tall, and you'd get regal pictures. Take Lisa, put her in really colorful makeup, clothes and backgrounds, and you'd get a bold high energy shoot.

They have very, very creative stylists, photographers and artistic directors. They could take a 93 year old overweight woman and make the most fabulous editorial with her. A harsh looking 30 year old girl is not going to stop them from working their magic.

Again, it's Italian Vogue. They are reputable, alright... They have a reputation for being daring. Excuse the Tyra-ism, but it's known for not being afraid to go with ugly-pretty. When they do an editorial with shots like these:

People seem to think that the contestants are some sort of aberrations, like they'd need extensive work to look presentable. All of these women are photogenic. Some more than others, but none are any more haggard looking than someone like, say, Jamie Bochert, who still gets editorials (and got a cover once) in their magazine.

And we're talking about ONE editorial. Just one. We don't even know if the winner will be alone in that editorial, nor do we know how big it will be. It's not like Lisa or Dominique could single-handedly destroy a 47 year reputation by having a picture in their magazine. They've featured far worse and faced much criticism before, yet they never stopped. They could have a nude shoot with Tahlia and nobody would give a damn.

So again, people need to keep in mind that it's a one time deal with a magazine that's known for pushing the definition of beauty. And another thing, Franca agreed to let one of Tyra's All Stars in her magazine. If truly she was worried about it, she would have refused, flat out. She owes Tyra nothing, and it's not like the magazine needs the ANTM fanbase to survive.

The freshness factor is also very important for Extra since its about working in front of a live moving camera and relating to a young audience. Im sry but the correspondant is probably supposed to be relatable to young girls so Shannon and Dominique are way too momsy for that.. And Lisa, Laura and Angelea are too gimmicky IMO to be really relatable to a broad audience. Look at the fanbases, look at this forum. Many people love these girls, but a lot are not getting their appeal at all. There are very few who do not like Allison but most of them are just annoyed by the hype around her and not by herself.
The girls in the editorial are one of the biggest international topmodels. Non of the girls on ANTM has such fine but distinct features and understated beauty and the skills to pull that off. The ANTM girls are way more commercial and comparing their looks and their modelling to Cocos, Jaimes, Kristens, Vladas whatever is quiet far-fetched and kind of an insult to the professionals IMO

Tyra and Franca both say that they want to expand the perception of beauty but that doesnt make any sense. Of course its great that they are casting bigger girls, darker girls, scarred girls etc. but this is about photogeneity/the golden cut and their not changing anything about that. ANTM girls have great money faces but thats just a different market than high end fashion editorial. Girls like Jamie have a rare understated beauty thats maybe not gonna be able to sell you tons of lip gloss but expensive and avantgarde luxury goods.

Of course they have photoshop and great makeup-artists but there is not much money in fashion so you produce as beneficial as possible, like in most industries. It just doesnt make any sense to invest so much money/work in something thats only gonna make you sell one issue more than usual once but is not gonna result in enhancing your business. You want to be refered to and associated with your contractors success so it should be someone who not only is gonna cost you a lot of money but someone who also is gonna get work and therefore make you even more money in reverse. Photoshopping the rinkles of an internationally famous actress or one of the five biggest supermodels can not be compared to that.

She's neither singer nor song-writer . She isn't perfect like whoever her stans want her to be!.

SO, maybe Laura didn't win cause she is finding work overseas. (If this season is about branding, she should stay in America after her win to promote herself.)

To be fair, getting an agency is not part of the winner's prize package. So Laura could go oversea and try to vow agencies with her VI editorial.
