I'll be taking part in the trend set by Guru's ANTM ranking, and be ranking one of my personal favorite shows, Project Runway! Expect the first installment tomorrow! :D

Without further ado, I present to you the first season I'll be ranking:

9th Place
SEASON 6





Season 6 was the first to air on the Lifetime network, as well as be filmed in Los Angeles. The change in production company was very apparent in season 6's weird, lackluster challenges and the much larger amount of cattiness than seasons before. I can't rank any season below season 6, for the simple fact that the challenges this season sucked. "Make a blue dress", "Make a red carpet dress" and "make a costume" are examples of this cycles horrible challenges, and even the usually awesome unconvential challenge amounted to nothing more than "make a dress out of newspaper". I thought that season 6's castmembers was one of the most talented groups we've seen on Project Runway, but due to the lame briefs every week we weren't able to see very much good work from them.

Having said that, the contestant from season 6 who comes in dead last in my eyes is none other than...

JOHNNY SAKALIS
(12th Place)


Many probably remember Johnny for his bitchfight with Nicolas on the runway during the newspaper challenge, when he told the judges the iron "spit on his dress" after he started a new one because of Tim Gunn's disapproval. He was quickly called out on it, but his having lied about something that wasn't a big deal at all wasn't the only thing that annoyed me about him, it was just the straw that broke my back. For his brief run on the show, Johnny was annoying, whiny, and produced the worst designs out of the pack every week. I was baffled when his cheap, shiny, shapeless dresses were commended by the panel, and was happy when they finally gave him the boot.

MITCHELL HALL
(14th Place)



Mitchell is infamous for the sheer piece of fabric he sent down the runway as a red carpet look on the first episode of season 6, his status as the season's early Bottom Two Queen, and being the only person in *Project Runway History* to be part of a winning team and still be eliminated. Many people seemed to hate Mitchell's personality, but I really didn't mind it at all. Many people also hated his work on the show, but I never thought his outfits were as bad as, say, Johnny's. That being said, he only produced two looks on his own during his brief run on the show, and both were disappointing. This and the fact that most of the other designers seemed to have more creativity/interesting designs puts him so low on my ranking.

Louise Black
(10th Place)


When Season 6 started, I was very excited to see how Louise would do. I thought the idea of a designer very into the 20's and 30's flapper-esque vibe would provide for some great outfits, but unfortunately Louise never delivered the art deco looks I was hoping for. Her looks always seemed to have okay concepts but fell very flat, and I found her personality to be extremely boring and slightly annoying.

MALVIN VIEN
(15th Place)


Malvin was an extremely interesting fellow, with his androgynous look and design aesthetic, strange attitude, and dreamy aura that surrounded him. I was a pretty big fan of the outfits in his pre-show portfolio, but on the show his clothes were kind of boring and weird. I actually really liked the direction his chicken maternity outfit was headed in, but I think the execution was unflattering. In the end, despite the fact that I thought Malvin was a pretty interesting designer who could bring something new to the table, his work on the show doesn't really deserve a spot any higher than he gets here.

Hint for tomorrow: Prepare to see a block of one gender get cut!

I have watched all the seasons except season6 & 7. So I can't give any comments yet :D

Still I'm excited to see your ranking. I personally love Season2, 4 & 9.
