I'm not homophobic being gay myself and I have never experienced self-hate... But I wonder why someone would do something like this? I love Sharon but damn, I get totally why he got bullied in school...
Don't hide who you are, but be normal-er, is not that this is wrong but you should consider also the people you are surrounded by, people is afraid to what they don't know/understands.
She was always kind of 'different' I guess and she didn't want to hide it? IMO, she was just being herself and people around her should've been accepting of it rather than saying she was distracting everyone else and all that. Heck, she would get in trouble as well when she was bullied or beat up in school.
My guess would be that even when Aaron was "more normal", he got bullied anyway. High school kids can be relentlessly cruel over the silliest things. If he decided to say "F**k it, they're going to hate me anyway so I might as well show them something to really hate", then I have a lot of respect for that audacity.
I totally felt for her when she said that, I also get the whole it's-who-I-am thing, and I approve it... But you should also think about your safety, get through high school and then go to San Francisco or New York and be a freak there..
Speak your mind darling, it's a forum, I'm open to debate anything.. no hard feelings... Your tone seems really pointed right now![]()
I don't think Sharon's the type to compromise herself in the name of safety. :/
Well it's just the question why should he have to change..
I see your point, why would he subject himself to that
But good for him for having the balls to be who he was!
The whole be who you are but be normal-er statement is self-defeating..
I do understand your point, but I don't think that should be right that people should have to do that.
Doesn't it go along with just because people are uncomfortable around effeminate gays, they should act straight.. a transgendered person should dress in the clothes of their sex..
I say because they would wait for him after school every day to beat him up as well inside the school...
Just saying, I went to high school in a very small town in a very conservative area in Colombia... The subject is not even mentioned.. When in high school a couple of class mates mentioned I might be gay and I just understood that my emotional and physical safety was more important.. I didn't stop hanging out with the girls, I didn't stop being in the drama and dancing class... But I definitely tried to maintain composition when I was around my male friends and sport class... I did it and I am not afraid to admit that.
Fair enough..
^ It definately agree It was very questionable for sure....of course fatal things can happen in certain areas. My point is just I think people like that are good for change, you know? If less people live in fear, there's more oppurtunity for acceptance in the long run.. Not everyone will agree with who you are. But if it's truly 100% who you are, I don't think anyone should hide themselves..
There's a huge gap between May 5-25... maybe that's when they're filming all-stars?
