Why didn't they cut Kelly Cutrone

From early cycles, Beau Quillian / Kimora Lee Simmons / Eric Nicholson only judge for one cycle.

I think after that, judges might get at least 2 cycles' contract like Nolé Marin.

Paulina Porizkova get 3 cycles.
Janice Dickinson get 4 cycles.
André Leon Talley get 4 cycles.
Twiggy get 5 cycles.
J. Alexander get 9 cycles.
Nigel Barker get 17 cyles.

Our sources over at the House Of Banks said many are scratching their heads and ducking fearing their heads will be the next to get chopped off. “Many of us were shocked when word got out that both Jays and Nigel were getting axed. That’s unheard of, but since the Angelea Preston incident, things just haven’t been the same on this show. Don’t be surprised to hear that the show doesn’t get renewed for Cycle 20.’ The show is supposed to have some major changes in store for next season which is already casting the next round of model wannabes, and sadly Cutrone will be sticking around. Another source on the show responded to me asking why she was saved the ax. “In my opinion, Kelly has done nothing to help the show besides alienating more viewers, but she’s gotten Tyra thinking that the show needs to go with a bigger social media angle so expect to see fashion bloggers and other insiders more. She killed her talk show trying to make too many changes, and sadly she’s hellbent on doing it to this show too.”

I still hope they renew C20.



Executive producer Ken Mok said in a statement: “Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander have been an integral part of the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ brand and they helped turn this show into the household name it is today. They have been amazing assets to the show and will always be a part of the ‘Top Model’ family. We will continue to actively work with each of them on future projects.”

No. When Mok said "they have been amazing assets to the show and will always be a part of the 'Top Model' family." it's tv producer speak for "They were on the show, but now they're not and never will be again."

So yeah they're let go just like Janice, Twiggy, Sutan, and Paulina before them.

Since now Tyra and Kelly are the 2 female judges left.

They usually have at least 1 male judge in the panel, right?

So I am wondering they might hire another new male judge in C19.

It's like pumping the heart for someone who's dying.
This show is dying. Everyone is just not as excited as they should be.
Tyra needs something to get attention really hard that can hit viewer on the face, and axed those 3 are drastic enough. When cycle 19 air, a lot of people will turn to see the new judges, and this is the first step. I think after that is up to Tyra if she can pull off the magic that cycle 1 brought.
I love Antm, but since Allison's loss on all-star it just hit me hard and made me numb with antm. I think this cycle, 18, is pretty good, but I'm still have some truma with it.,. May be with the new era of antm will gain my appreciation toward this show again. Again, this is a very nice strategy of Tyra, Harvard really tough her well.

Why the Jays , especially Ms. Jay. However, maybe a new photoshoot director will bring a fresh and more fashion-forward approach to the show . Happy about Nigel, but Tyra should change an ingredient, not the whole recipe.

So jumping ahead a little, the show's nineteenth cycle just got picked up. Will you be back?
[The producers] asked me to come back. Originally they said, ‘If we get picked up [again], would you like to come back?’ So I said yes, and it's a relief really, because when I took the job I said to my lawyer, "I ****ing bet you, if this show gets canceled, I’m going to kill myself because I’m gonna be the person who killed Top Model."

It's set to be a college-themed series. Do you think the Top Model experience justifies taking a semester off school?
If it's a girl genuinely interested in learning more about modeling, sure. Real-life experience always helps. I think that my interns learn more about being at People’s Revolution for 6 months than they do — I mean, I hate to say it – no, I don’t hate to say it. I say this and I’ve said it before, I've have interns with communications degrees, and they can’t take a ****ing phone message. I ask, how much did you spend on your education? $100,000? $150,000? Money wasted! Go ask for a refund. I had a car with two tires, I’d return it. You should go return your education. Go back and tell your ****ing school that you want your money back.
There are kids all across America having a really hard time, and shows like Top Model are a real indication of other opportunities for them in life. All you have to do is take a drive across America and stop in a few towns, and go to a Hardy’s parking lot, and you’re going to see a lot of lost kids. We have to empower these kids, anything we can to entertain them and help them follow their dreams — they need it. For the girl whose mom is drunk all day and whose dad left when she was two, she wants to be pretty and successful like everybody else, but she’s not even going to the community college because she can’t afford it. Where is she going to get her information? TV shows, reality TV. I guarantee you – and I know this more from being on The City and The Hills and being on my book tour — people are like, "I got into fashion because of shows on TV. I got into PR because of you."

I’ll be shooting Top Model again in L.A., so I might become LA-ified.

C19 is scheduled to start filming in May 2012, right?

If the producers of the Series (the "Producers") elect to have a semi-final round, and you are selected for an interview in the Semi-Finals, you must be willing to travel at your own expense to a location (to be determined) in your region of the country. The Producers reserve the right to add, cancel and/or substitute other cities as interview locations for the Semi-Finals. If you are selected by the Producers for an interview during the final selection process, you must be willing to travel to Los Angeles for approximately one week sometime in May 2012 (as scheduled by the Producers) as part of the final selection process. The exact date of such interviews may be changed at any time by Producers in their sole discretion.

If selected as a participant, you must be willing to live in a house or loft located at a location and in a city as determined by Producers (the "house") for approximately one and a half months sometime from May through July 2012 with approximately nine to fourteen other female strangers, where you will have little or no privacy. These dates are subject to change by Producers with or without notice.

Thank you all for your kind words. It’s true, after 18 cycles, I will not be returning to America’s Next Top Model.
Most importantly, I must give a big thank you to all our fans! It’s been extraordinary being a part of an such an amazing brand that we all worked hard to build. From the first cycle you embraced us and nine years later, we still feel that love. I’ve truly been blessed to work on a show that was recognized and loved around the world. I’ll take with me memories and lessons that will last a lifetime.
Nigel, Miss J and I had a great run, and now it’s time for us to move on. But you know me… I’m already working on many interesting projects. I look forward to sharing with you soon!

Long-standing America’s Next Top Model Cast Members Get Canned, Show Sets Sights on Bloggers

We reached out to the fashion blogging phenom for comment and he was just as surprised as we were by the news. Though he’s not opposed. “I love Tyra and ANTM–I think it would be amazing to make a cameo (hello Andre! hello Franca!) but no, nothing is in the works as of now,” he told us from a train in Italy. “This is the first time I heard of this.”

The only thing we know for sure about cycle 19 is that it will be shot in Los Angeles and Kelly Cutrone will reprise her role has a harsh judge. If the rumors are true (aside from the Bryanboy one), it might not be the worst thing to see some new life breathed into the almost 10-year-old show (sorry, Jay, J. and Nigel!).

I'm puzzled as to what direction Tyra is taking with this show. Things are definitely a hot ass mess right now. I thought she got it together with Cycle 15, but then things went all over the place again.
