The Nerve is a combination of reality, non-reality, and photoshoot game hosted by Sundae Morning on rtvgames.com. The players sign up as America's Next Top Model contestants, and from there, each season takes a divergent path.

To start the series, the host was mainly Tyra Banks, but changed to match the reality show that was played out during the particular round; Jeff Probst for Survivor, Julie Chen for Big Brother, and Phil Keoghan for The Amazing Race. Since then, in a tradition that has yet to be broken, the host of the cycle is the ANTM model that won the last cycle (the "Nerve Queen").
Format
The format of The Nerve varies wildly depending on the cycle, each of which had its own set of rules, which can be found in the individual pages for each cycle.
Live Challenges
The live challenges are a unique feature of The Nerve series. These require that all or most of the players are online at the same time, and there are one or two challenges per round depending on the cycle and round. Most of the challenges involve rapid posting in the cycle's thread, for which The Nerve has drawn criticism in the form of "spamming".
However, live challenges remain an integral part of the series, and add an element of unpredictability and excitement.
The only cycle without live challenges was Cycle 3 and Cycle 6, a photoshoot combined with strategy game.
Voting
There is some form of voting or decision-making in every cycle. Depending on the round, voting can follow the pattern of Big Brother, in which the players must eliminate one of two nominees, or Survivor, in which voting is a free-for-all except for the immunity winner.
In Cycle 3 and Cycle 6, voting was for the winner of the photo challenge and photoshoot.
In Cycle 5, voting was dispensed with, and instead it was the sole decision of the Model-In-Charge to eliminate or "retahliate" a player.
Confessionals
Throughout the game, the players provide the host with information about their gameplay. At the end, all of these are revealed, which help demystify the process and cause some interesting discussions.
Hidden Tiara
Only present for cycles 1 and 2 so far, the Hidden Tiara was a secret immunity that could be used during an elimination and radically alter the progress of the game. Elina Ivanova was famous for winning both of them in Cycle 2, and using one of them to dramatically blindside Norelle.
In Cycle 7, the Hidden Tiara was a huge theme of the season because it's one of the tools why Wholahay lead herself to victory when she played it (one of them in a form of starfish) in 3 consecutive eliminations.
Jury
In every cycle but Cycle 3, there was some sort of Jury to choose a winner. The jury is the 9th through 3rd place finishers, and this group of 7 players may grill the final two as they choose before casting their vote for the winner.
