View Full Version : Sober House

"Sober House" will chronicle the dramatic, real life experiences of a group of celebrities in recovery. These recovering addicts will move into a group house for several weeks, in an effort to make the critical transition to new lives free of drugs and alcohol.

The sober living house is an interim step on the path to sobriety, where addicts can live in a supervised environment with structure and rules, i.e. mandatory curfews, chores and meetings. It's a place where celebrity addicts, most of whom have spent the better part of their lives in the throes of an addiction, will learn to start their lives over from the ground up. In some cases, they will be changing everything, from their jobs to their friends. Many will be making the very difficult decision to dissociate themselves from loved ones who are toxic to their sobriety.

Throughout this experience, they will have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Drew in both one-on-one and group therapy to work through their ongoing issues. He and his staff will be always keeping a watchful eye over all that goes on at the Sober House.

In the end, we will witness the real life struggles of these celebrity patients, whose sobriety hangs by a thread. Faced with the pressures of daily life, many of them act out as they strive to find the path to a much happier and fulfilling life.

This was a good idea to get those popular Celeb Rehab people back for another season.

To be honest, this Dr. Drew is not being a real Doctor in this case. I know he has his Ph.D. but he is breaking all kinds of rules doing this show. He just has too many personal relationships with his "patients" and airing out their dirty laundry may not be illegal, but it does seem quite unethical.

I heard an interview with Dr. Drew last week where he admitted this isn't the ideal situation for treatment, but he did say he thought it was better than no treatment at all.

I like Dr. Drew more than other T.V. doctors, but there's just a problem with "T.V. Doctors" in genral, most people believe medicine type matters should behind close doors. While this makes for excellent t.v. and I get so attached to all who attend Celebrity rehab and sober house I'm beginning to wonder if this show is just as fake as most Vh1 Reality shows.

Oh and Dr. Drew and I have the same birthday :zsnap

I'm confused on what happened with Seth. First he told them he had a heart attack, but then he said he didn't. So he was lying to make them worried or what?

I'm convinced his manager had him do all this for airtime. It's sad when you are doing that on a rehab show. Something just doesn't fit with someone who is high on every drug imaginable being able to properly work a live feed video and then give out cryptic clues.

this show is SO shockingly WRONG. WTF??? obviously seth is a big time druggie and he doesnt want any help. this man has a wife & kid & he still cant get his act together.

so why is VH1 torturing us with this too morbid for TV reality? its awful. i certainly do NOT feel entertained.
